Talk Back: Honoring Gretchen Wyler

By on June 5, 2007 with 0 Comments By Wayne Pacelle

Last week, The Associated Press, the Los Angeles Times and The New York Times paid homage to Gretchen Wyler, a Broadway actress turned animal advocate. In reaction to her passing, we also heard from readers:

For 40 years, Gretchen’s intelligence and dedication released countless animals from their suffering. Because of her indomitable spirit, massive changes she set into motion have momentum beyond her time on earth. It was a privilege to learn from and work for Gretchen Wyler. Requiem in peace. —Holland VanDieren

What a warrior!  I was fortunate enough to see Ms. Wyler in person, for the first time, at The Genesis Awards this past March in Los Angeles. Her spirit radiated immediately to me and she became a new hero! I watched as the camera captured her smiles as she listened to the words of the many award winners and presenters. I will never forget my experience that evening. She will forever hold a special place in my heart. —Pamela Bertsch, Frisco, Texas
