Tune In Monday to Animal Planet Investigates: Petland

It’s been a while since I last blogged about Petland, the nation’s largest retail supporter of puppy mills, but our campaign to urge the pet store chain to change its ways is ongoing. Advocates are still demonstrating in front of Petland pet stores regularly. Legal actions against the company are still in play. And sadly, heartbroken puppy buyers still write to us just about every week about sick and dying puppies they’ve purchased from Petland stores. We’re committed to sticking with the fight for as long as it takes to stop the company’s role in funneling puppy mill dogs to an unsuspecting public.

And on Monday, Animal Planet will broadcast details of our investigation to the American public, revealing new, never-before-seen footage of the battle to expose pet stores and their connections to puppy mills. On Monday, May 17, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, Animal Planet's new special “Animal Planet Investigates: Petland” explores the relationship between Petland and puppy mills—following our undercover investigator “Mike” as he visits overcrowded, inhumane puppy mills that have sold puppies to several Petland outlets. The program also features heartbreaking stories of families affected by Petland's involvement with these mass-breeding facilities.

It’s time for Petland executives to face facts and make the policy changes needed to halt the cruelty of puppy mills. Please tune in or set your recording devices and also ask your friends to watch “Animal Planet Investigates: Petland.” And if you’re on Facebook, help spread the word by RSVPing there to say you’ll be watching the show.
